HKHA: Maintenance and Improvement Work (Enhanced Care), Hong KongClient: Hong Kong Housing Authority The CARE programme involved the condition survey of Five Public Rental Estates for the Hong Kong Housing Authority, followed by a critical appraisal of the survey findings leading to the development of a repair strategy and the subsequent letting and supervision of four repair contracts. The Lee Jacobs joint venture have a contract for a 42 month period which includes the supervision of a multi-disciplinary design team comprising building surveyors, architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, building services engineers. |

Parkland

Discovery Bay Services Management Ltd
was appointed to carry out a condition survey, submit a report with renovation
proposals and supervise the works for seven 5-storey buildings with 70 apartments at
Parkland Drive, Discovery Bay.
The buildings were found to be suffering from mosaic tile detachment. We suggested in our survey report a number of options ranging from patch repair, to over-cladding, to re-cladding. We compiled a comprehensive analysis on the cost, time and quality implications as well as disturbance to residents for the various options. Accordingly, tile filler system was recommended for the remedial works. The characteristics of various tile filler systems have been compared and analysed. |
